02/12/25
Cloudy.
Scattered snow/sleet
showers will be
possible during
daylight hours.
Picture it.
Summer.
There's a threat
for scattered
storms. Some
of you go through
the day with nothing.
Some of you get multiple
rounds. Same concept.
Elevations: 30-35
Valleys: 31-36
Cloudy.
First, wind gusts will
increase during the evening.
Gusts 20-25mph overnight.
Scattered snow,
sleet and freezing
rain showers still
possible through
early evening.
Then by 9-10pm,
they start to fill in more.
However, it doesn't look
like these periods of
precipitation blanket
the entire area until late.
I'm expecting a more
organized batch of precip
to move in 4-6AM
from west to east.
That batch will move
out of here by 10am.
PRECIP TYPES:
IF there's any snow
with this thing after dark,
it would occur before
midnight. However,
we've been burned
by 2 wintry mixes
in the past week.
Remember sleet fest?
Regardless if you see
any flakes or not,
your snow AND sleet
total will equal less
than one inch.
You'll see freezing
rain as well. It's not
crippling, but a light
glaze to 0.1" is possible.
The main batch of precip
that arrives 4-6AM
will be 90% PLAIN RAIN.
Some of you may be flirting
with 32 degrees when
it arrives, but temps
are going to continue
warming up.
Morning commute?
By 7AM, it looks to be
just PLAIN RAIN
for everyone.
It still may be on
the icy side when you're
traveling around daybreak.
Even with the temp
above freezing, the ground
is still cold. The
snow/sleet/freezing rain
garbage from earlier won't
melt away instantly.
So just be aware that slick
spots are possible.
But additional ice
accretions, by daybreak,
will NOT occur. Plain
rain only for the end
of the event.
Again, wraps up by
10am at the latest.

3AM Temps: 30-35

02/15/25
Cloudy.
Snow, sleet
and freezing rain
are all on the
table. GFS has
it moving in
during the morning.
EURO has it moving
in much later. Until
the Wed/Thurs
event is off models,
things won't be clear.
Only thing that's
fairly certain:
It's a much larger event.
There's more QPF
with this one than
prior storms. This means
that there's a lot more
precipitation falling
from the clouds. It's
not a nuisance amount.
Will most of it fall
as plain rain? Will most
of it fall as ice? Will most of
it fall as snow? Those
are the questions
unanswered at this time.
Elevations: 30-35
Valleys: 30-35
Cloudy.
Snow, sleet
freezing rain
and plain rain
are all on the table.
Will know more
after Wed/Thurs
event is off models.
Temps are supposed
to rise overnight above freezing.
Winds increase late.
