will move in overnight.

2AM to 5AM things

will kick off.

After looking at

current temps (10:00PM)

and comparing them

to models, I feel like

the 3km NAM has a good

handle on the situation.

In fact, it's about 2 degrees

colder than modeled right now.

So it's projection of ice

seems to be the closest.

Below is total ice accretion

across the region.

The gray areas are just

a light glaze. The pink is

up to 0.1" of ice. 

While 0.1" might be pushing it,

there is a chance that some

pockets of below freezing

temps stick around longer.

Best chance for that would be

the coldest and deepest

valleys. In this situation,

highest elevations will

warm up quicker. That's

why you see less ice

in Hazleton than you

do in Allentown.

Temps by 8-9am should

be above freezing for

a good chunk of you.

The exception would be

eastern Schuylkill, lower

half of Carbon and Lehigh

counties. That's where I'm

expecting the pocket of

cold air to hang around

the longest. Northern

Columbia County may

hold on to freezing

rain a bit longer as well.

If you don't see your location

with ice accretion on the map,

that simply means

plain rain is only expected

for your area.
