04/09/25
Increasing clouds
west to east.
Low: 30-36
04/10/25
Possibly some
early morning
sun. Best chance is
in the southeastern
portion of the area.
Otherwise,
clouds will dominate.
Scattered showers
(mainly west of I-81)
before 10AM.
Periods of steady
rain move in
11AM to 3PM
West to East.
Wind gusts
increasing to
15-25mph.
Elevations: 43-48
Valleys: 44-50
Cloudy.
Periods of rain
in the evening
will mix with snow
(especially in
the highest terrain).
Will there be
a complete changeover
to all snow for some of you?
Will it only be in
elevations?
Some guidance DOES
show snow reaching valleys
for anyone north of I-78.
Since it's April, I feel like
high resolution
model guidance should
be heavily leaned upon.
The 3km NAM is usually
pretty good with these setups.
That's one of the models
showing snow in valleys
north of I-78. Another
model I'd consider is the
HRRR. It does go out 48
hours. But the further you
go into the future, the
less reliable it becomes.
I use it a lot the day
of an event. It's pretty good
with timing out changeover
and pinpointing who does
changeover completely
to snow. Watch for
an update during the day
on Thursday. I'll let you know
what short range models say.
With that said,
periods of rain and snow
will be possible throughout
the night. If snow really does
come to fruition, there's a few
things to keep in mind.
It's dark out. That's the main
ingredient that could
help snow stick. Will it
snow hard enough
for pavement to cool
and allow sticking?
Will you only see snow
on grass, trees and cars?
Who sees snow accumulate?
1,200FT? 1,500FT? 2000FT?
We'll figure it out by
Thursday Afternoon.
Wind gusts to 25mph
through midnight.
Low: 32-39
