Nuisance storm arrives; ice possible for some
A weak storm will move through the area Saturday evening into Sunday morning. While most of us will see plain rain, there's elevated terrain that need to be alert for ICE. I'm expecting temps to drop to 30-32 degrees after 8:00PM and stay that way through at least 10:00PM for areas like Mcadoo and Hazleton. Areas further east, in Carbon and Monroe County will see ice last longer; ending around 12:00AM. Once we hit midnight, mostly everyone should be experiencing plain rain as temps rise. So the window is small for icing, but accidents may occur if people are caught off guard. If traveling after 8:00PM in elevations tonight, take your time and stay safe.
Rain may mix with some wet snow before ending late Sunday morning or early afternoon. No accumulation expected. Some valley areas "could" pick up their first snowflakes of the season if cold air aloft moves in quick enough...
I time the ICE out for you with images below...
